No cheats May!
I was terrible this weekend with my cheat meal. It was completely unnecessary to indulge the amount that I did. No turning back now, though. I want to go the entire month of May without cheats and June I guess. No more cheats until after the Adela Garcia! (June 22nd) Then I want to keep it pretty clean until Thailand (August 8th)—because I want to be shredded for that. šŸ˜› My only...

10 Weeks Til The Adela Garcia Classic!
I’m feeling good! I’m now going to cut out cheat meals for a few weeks to see how that goes. I’ve also now taken oil out of my cooking, coconut and extra virgin olive oil, and instead have been cooking my chicken in water. (Yummmm….not.) But I feel good! I feel healthy, and I feel like my body is responding well to what I’m doing. I have a tiny portion of sweet...

Comp Prep Diaries: 81 Days Out
Today was Day 1, did a nice delt workout, supersetting every exercise with plyo. I tend to make it up as I go, depending on how I feel that day, so I did some: -Clean and pressĀ  -Circular shoulder raise? Not sure what they’re called -One arm, leaning shoulder lat raise (I’m clearing making up names) -Shoulder press (where I got laughed at by 2 guys because I tried to go too heavy and...

Officially starting my 12 week prep for the Adela...
SUPER EXCITED. Difference in competition diet than my current diet? Mainly just cutting out the fun stuff: egg whites instead of eggs, less frequent carbs, no cheese, no turkey bacon, less fruit, more veggies, more protein! Oh and more CARDIO. (Bane of my existence right there.) It’s going to be fun. I’ll take my ‘before’ pictures today and then see what I look like in...

Products I Want to Try
1. Sun Warrior Vegan Protein No, I am not a Vegan. However, while competition prepping, there is a certain point where you have to cut out dairy, to avoid any possible bloating. (Whey protein is a dairy product, in case you didn’t know. I never really think of it as one.) So I’m tempting to try this. I also like that it’s all natural, with no artificial chemicals or sweeteners...

Proper Use of Belts During Weight Training
I found this article useful while debating the topic earlier today. Attempted a leg day, and had some weird knee pains, just in the right one. Very annoying. So I researched some various lifting aids, and first invested in these wonders: Rehband Knee Support…things. I feel like my right knee has always been a problem so I’m hoping they’ll assist in that problem. And then when...

And I’m now considering a nice, juice cleanse before I start my next competition prep! Seriously.Ā  I just want to stop craving bad foods. I might do it for three days. I’m already drinking 2-3 a day, since…the day before yesterday? Ha. But I think it’s going to be a great addition to my health. Thank heavens. Ā

If you have Netflix
You need to watch the documentary “Hungry for Change”. And then if you want more, watch “Food Matters”.Ā  Phenomenal eye opener. I went and bought a juicer and will never eat a processed food again. Not really. …but really. Also found it interesting that it is vital for your body to have raw foods rather than cooked, for best immune support effectiveness.Ā

Now offering online coaching
I cannot keep up with all of the questions that get thrown at me through various social networking sites—so I have decided to offer online coaching, where you can ask me all the questions you’d like. I do it constantly for my friends as it is, and was previously offering a basic outline for a competitor bod.Ā  Now, I want to make it moreĀ customizableĀ depending your body type (which I...

Sauna and its health benefits
Sauna works on the principle of generating abundant sweat to detoxify the body and relax the mind. Regular sauna use can bring a number of health advantages - some of them are listed below: Glowing healthy skinĀ - blood flow to the skin increases during a sauna session. With more essential nutrients being available to subcutaneous and surface tissue, the quality of the skin gradually improves. ...

A Different Perspective
I’ve been spending a lot of time with my family for the past week. Spending days there at my mom’s house, and not feeling or caring about food prepping (there was a rather significant death in the family), I’ve been eating…well, whatever is around. Which at my parent’s house is pretty much summed up by cake, poptarts, pizza rolls, and fast food. I haven’t...

FAQ: What to do when your friends do not support...
I get this question quite often, and it’s really tough. I was just over 21 years old when I started to get ‘into’ fitness. Guess what I was surrounded by CONSTANTLY? Alcohol. Bars. Clubs. Dancing that was virtually impossible without the assistance of said alcohol. So when I attempted to ease into a life of fitness, I quickly realized who my ‘real friends’ were. Sad...

Increasing cardio
And drinking tons of water to get rid of this water weight!! Maybe I’ll sit in the sauna for 3 days to just sweat it all out. I never understand why people do ‘detoxes’ with fruit and veggie smoothies or pills, etc. Just drink WATER. Drink LOTS of it. That’s my cheap and easy alternative at least. Also, trying to throw in some more cardio because I neglect it oh-so-often....

22 days until the Arnold
I know I’m only working the expo, it’s not like I’m competing. But I don’t feel like I am where I should be. My diet is SLIPPING and slipping often. I feel good about my body, I’m in the best shape of my life for heaven’s sake, but I just don’t feel goodĀ enough,Ā for a bodybuilding competition of this magnitude. Everyone is going to be there. EVERYONE....
