I’m about to switch back to HD (I’ve been using D4 for contest prep) but for my last 6 weeks, I’m going to push out with HD. I take it before my fasted cardio with BCAA’s (Only Cellucor BCAA’s have beta alanine which will give you that extra boost of energy) and I can stairmaster foreverrrrrrr.
Tip: If you don’t like that ‘tingly’ feeling you get from preworkout or BCAA’s, drink part of it before you’re workout, like 1/4, and then sip the rest throughout the workout. That’s my method and it works wonderfully.
I’m feeling good! I’m now going to cut out cheat meals for a few weeks to see how that goes. I’ve also now taken oil out of my cooking, coconut and extra virgin olive oil, and instead have been cooking my chicken in water. (Yummmm….not.)
But I feel good! I feel healthy, and I feel like my body is responding well to what I’m doing. I have a tiny portion of sweet potato with 3 meals that have 3-4 oz of chicken with it, and I drink 2 16 oz veggie juices a day.
I also have 2 protein shakes a day with egg whites, almond milk, and water.
I’ve been drinking these carbonated flavored waters to drive away my appetite, they work really well for me. As well as my D4/HD (I swap frequently), which help with my cravings.
Oh and in the morning I have egg whites with turkey and sometimes I have oats also.
I’m obviously on a caloric deficit, and I make sure I’m tracking so I don’t hit too low. I have a couple cuties a day too. I know this is an extreme diet and I wouldn’t do it all year (mostly because it’s BORING) but that’s what competition prep is!
But yes! That’s my current diet. Combined with fish oil, my cellucor supps, and a multivitamin. I also just ordered an enzyme probiotic, it should come in soon and we’ll see how that goes.
Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday! :)

Morning ritual: immediately upon waking I take my #cellucor #fatburner: either HD or D4. And then a scoop of watermelon BCAA’s because they’re the bomb and then I go do an hour of cardio.
(BCAA’s are extremely important before you do fasted cardio because they will assist the body in targeting fat instead of burning hard earned muscle. BCAA’s also make up 1/3 of your muscle so it makes sense that they would be useful in your daily lifting regimen! )
As is #competitionprep life. It’s not so bad though. I’m on the fourth#gameofthrones book and though it doesn’t have Daenarys in it at ALL, it’s getting good. Great time to get the reading done, while pounding away on the stairmaster.
And if you buy the HD and the BCAA’s you get a free Cellucor shaker cup and towel! It ends up being like $62 with my code!
1. Sun Warrior Vegan Protein
No, I am not a Vegan. However, while competition prepping, there is a certain point where you have to cut out dairy, to avoid any possible bloating. (Whey protein is a dairy product, in case you didn’t know. I never really think of it as one.) So I’m tempting to try this. I also like that it’s all natural, with no artificial chemicals or sweeteners in it. (The Natural version, I believe the flavors have a few things like Xanthan gum in the ingredients.)
2. Muscle Egg

Who gets bored with eating 2 cups of egg whites a day? This girl.
I tried a sample of every single flavor and definitely enjoyed them all. They’re all scrumptious, in comparison to traditional egg whites-(which I normally just add to protein shakes anyway)-however, a bit on the pricer side. I believe 4 gallon containers is about $100. It’s a bit much, but I’ll splurge on them one day.

Before and after: ab version.
Only goes up from here.
Try different things until you find what works for your body. You won’t regret it.
I get this question quite often, and it’s really tough.
I was just over 21 years old when I started to get ‘into’ fitness. Guess what I was surrounded by CONSTANTLY? Alcohol. Bars. Clubs. Dancing that was virtually impossible without the assistance of said alcohol.
So when I attempted to ease into a life of fitness, I quickly realized who my ‘real friends’ were. Sad to say, at this age and point in time: there are not many.
You have to surround yourself with people who support and understand you. You’re friends don’t have to be buff bodybuilders, but they need to be people that respect your lifestyle and don’t try to crap tequila shots down your face four times a week. (Guilty.)
Unfortunately, the answer is: sometimes you gotta find some new friends. Joining activities is a great way to do this: crossfit, yoga, 5k’s, even striking up conversations with the peeps at your gym—there are TONS of us out there! Find us! Hell, find us on Instagram and Twitter and Tumblr, we have the internet now! Unlimited resources to discover other humans!
Anyway, I kept some old friends and made some new ones. You also should make an effort, with those that you care about, to go do active ‘not drinking’ activities with you. I like to take my dog for a run and invite friends with dogs. Living Social and GroupOn both have fun deals for things like skydiving and rock climbing and kayaking, etc. Do fun active things!! Trust me, you’ll feel better in the long run.
I’m not going to say that I don’t EVER drink, but it’s definitely best for your body to keep it at a minimum.
Hope that helped. Good luck, fit friends.
